The mesosphere contains noctilucent clouds, the highest clouds in Earth's atmosphere—too faint to be seen in daylight, visible only when illuminated by sunlight from below the horizon. Keiko Shiga’s rhythmically oscillating acoustic piano acts like a focal lens, condensing the rarefied articulations of Gary Diggins’ out reaching trumpet into a rooted, melodically earthly terrain.
