Through the stratospheric world of wind and weather, an international journey commences, airport to airport, in modernity near the speed of sound and well above the clouds, punctuated by the sounds of humanity. Rhythmic turbulence at this altitude is caused by variations in this atmosphere, strongly evoked by Adam Bowman’s propulsive drumming, and the flamenco guitar of Hidehiko Kashihara. The jet stream and other local wind shears are conjured by the tropical, up welling vocals of Okinawan singer Aragaki Mutsumi, and the raw Native-Korean air and water spirits of Bae Il-Dong.
