A touchingly melancholic interplay of instruments speaks for an endangered Earth in our Anthropocene Era of cataclysmic change. Lead by the piano of the late Bruce Stoller (hailing from the Arizona desert), the four seasons seem to flow though the landscapes of the American Southwest, leading the listener into intimate hills, valleys and caverns of sonic purity. Like an eagle on the wing, the free flight of Gary Diggins’ trumpet soars above, while the shakuhachi of Jeff Cairns serves as a gravitational counterpoint to Diggins’ ascent.
